When Holly and Dylan said they wanted to head to Bass Lake for their engagement photos and shotgun beers, I knew they were the ones for me. I mean, I knew I was the photographer for them...

We met up at the store to game plan and decided to go hit the pretty forest parts before coming back to the waterfront for sunset photos.

I often say that an engagement session is a great way for you and your wedding photographer to get to know each other before your big day, and this is a perfect example of it. I've known Dylan since he was a kid, but this was only my second time meeting Holly, the first time being our meeting to go over the wedding contract. By the time this day was over we had walked through mud and goose shit together, we drank a beer together, and I learned that Dylan is willing to run a mile back to the truck just to make her happy, even though she sent him there to change his boots so she could splash him.

As you can tell from these photos, they really are perfect for each other. So, now I'm patiently counting down the days until I get to hang out with them at their wedding!

If your idea of a good time is shot-gunning beers and dancin' in the mud, call me- because we can make it happen!
